Fourth Of July Recipes That Are Healthy For Your Teeth

Few other holidays make the grills as busy as the Fourth of July. But although delicious, summer BBQ food is not really tooth-healthy, but you can still eat healthy on this occasion with a little bit of forethought and responsibility.
The main challenge, when it comes to summer BBQ food is to do your best to avoid sauces and sweets, because they are loaded with sugar. As we all know including what a licensed Colorado sedation dentistry officewill tell you, sugar is really bad for the teeth, causing bacteria and decay. Also, sugary foods, mixed with saliva, form plaque on the teeth which contributes to dissolving the teeth enamel and gum tissue inflammation.
If you cannot avoid eating sugary stuff on the Fourth of July, at least do not forget to brush your teeth no less than twice a day, or rinse your mouth immediately after eating, to remove some of the sugar.
But the best thing is to consider replacing sweets with something healthier. Replace chocolate, cakes and ice cream with seasonal fruits. They are sweet and tasty too and they also have other health benefits. Spicing your cereals or cookies with cinnamon or ginger is another trick to reduce your sugar craving.
