The demographics of Denver is varied and in continuous growth. The city’s population grew by over 18,000 in 2016 and the trend seems not only to continue, but to accelerate, too, making Denver one of the most dynamically developing cities in the US – here are some more details:
- Denver is a city with an ethnically diverse population – 77% of the locals are white, lightly over 11% Afro-American, 2.3% American Indian and 4.5% Asian,
- There are more men than women in Denver – 50.4% of the population is male and 49.6% is female;
- The Mile-High City is also the highest-educated settlement in the US, with over 90% of the metropolitan population having high-school diplomas and around 35% of them having at least a bachelor’s degree, many doctor and licensed sedation dentistry professionals.
- Denver stands out when it comes to age and health as well – its population is young (over 30% of the local are aged between 35 and 54, the median age being 31.7) and it is also the thinnest, with only 20% of the adult population battling weight issues (compared to the national average of around 50%), thanks to the excellent weather, the active lifestyle and the high level of education;
- The average life expectancy for Denver residents is over 80 years.
